|A sense of entitlement
I am owned by the girl now! Yesterday in the mail my title arrived. Now I a really truly hers and there is no danger that the bank will show up and take me away! Not that there ever really was since she's always been good about paying my loan bills on time, but still... it's a happy feeling :) *rev*Current Mileage: 23,900 Current Mood: pleased

|Steal my fuses, test my brakes!
So the other day the girl came out of work and told me she needed a fuse for some work equipment. I told her I didn't have any spares so she took the one out of my radio! She ran off with it, promising to get me a new one. Several minutes later she came back and made good on her promise - we drove to Pep Boys and bought a 25 pack of 20amp fuses.
Then Friday we were driving up to Oakland and it was cold and actually sleeting! We're cruising along 238 going about 60 and suddenly we notice traffic in front of us doing 10... Eeeeee *panick brake* *shudder* Hey! That was my traction control engaging! It works! Collision avoided. Then I realize I should turn on the magic snowflake - *ding ding ding* conditions might be slippery! The girl laughs at me and says it would have been nice if I told her that 5 minutes ago. Hey, we made it through safely, that's what counts, right?Current Mileage: 23,000 Current Mood: amused

|today we went driving in the mountains
Little bits of cold white stuff fell on me. The girl said it was called snow. Snow! I've never seen that before! We drove lots and never entirely got lost even though we weren't entirely sure where we were going either. A closed road made our trip much longer. It's fun to just drive for the sake of driving and not have anywhere in particular to go.Current Mileage: 22,450 Current Mood: excited

|Clean air from a sticker?
Got my 20K service. Ok, so that was about a month ago but I haven't gotten around to updating. Lots of work done! Everything checked out fine though. *rev*
Then last week the girl gave me a couple of new stickers. She said one was a TerraPass
that lets me burn gasoline in exchange for someone else, er, not burning gasoline. It's pretty and blue and green and I like it, but I'm not sure I entirely understand. The girl says burning too much gasoline is bad because it contributes to climate change and then there might not be pretty rain in the winter. Or there might be too much rain. Or big huge hurricanes might come and sweep hundreds of cars out to sea, like happened in New Orleans. But since I have to drink gasoline we pay someone else money to not drink as much. I guess that makes some sense.Current Mileage

|I saw my first movie!
It was a fun movie about a crazy little VW bug who races
. I kinda wish I could do stuff like that, on the other hand he gets beat up pretty bad in a lot of it and I rather cherish my pristine paint job. Still, it's nice to see my relatives getting work in the movie industry!
In other news, the girl has been working up in the hills of Santa Cruz the past week or so. Much windey hilly driving! Fun! Good chance for us to practice engine-braking. (as opposed to engine-breaking, to which I am very much opposed!)Current Mileage: 12435 Current Mood: pleased

|how's that for service?
Very good, thankyou! Got my 10K service this morning. Pleased to report that I am still in top working condition and I feel great! We sprung for the premium service (which included extra tire-balancing, alignment, and coolant system treatment) because I am a premium girl and I am worth it! The only thing they didn't do was give me my complementary bath - apparently their car shower was broken. I'm all covered in pollen!
Recently, I got to take a drive up to Elk, CA and we moved to a new house. I don't have a garage at the new place but there's a nice cozy driveway I park in most of the time. I usually share it with a white miata. Makes me feel big! Right now I'm sharing it with the caddy though. Makes me feel small!Current Mileage: 10,155 Current Mood: refreshed

|clean bill of health!
Got my first service today. Oil change and general checkover. They pronounced me healthy and good for another 5000mi until my next service, which I think will be a bit more involved. They also gave me bath, which was nice since the girl has been too busy with work to find time to bathe me.
Also, I have real CA plates now. As of about a month ago. Want my vaaaanity plates though! *swishes wipers impatiently*Current Mileage: 5130 Current Mood: accomplished

my world gets bigger and I see new things. this weekend I saw the ocean for the first time! it is blue like I am but much bigger. the girl let her boy drive me some in the parking lot so that he will be able to drive manual shift too. and just when I was getting used to some approximation of competence! (she really has been getting MUCH better. we haven't stalled in weeks. well, we hadn't until this morning backing into a parking space at work when she was in a hurry and accidentally hit the brake before the clutch). fortunately I am patient.
The plymouth is gone. I watched the tow-truck take it away. the girl was all sad and cried. So I have a garage now. Still, I seem to spend more of the time parked on the street at the boy's place. At least where she parks me is off the main street and not under any pollen-producing trees. I am still dirty from the week she left me parked in the parking lot at the condo complex while she went on vacation to boston. (she says she went in a plane, which is like a car but a lot bigger and it drives in the sky instead of on the ground. wow. boston must be far. I wonder if I will ever get to go there.).
I am marked now - I proudly display an MIT sticker for the girl. I guess it is some college in Boston that she went to. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy though, since it is something she is obviously proud of and I share in her pride. She also adorned me with a "Kerry Edwards" sticker, but she attached that one with scotch-tape so that she can take it off after something called an "election" happens. Just as well, since that one isn't nearly as pretty. Current Mileage:

I'm all new! Girl whose hair matches me came last week and bought me! I'm teaching her to drive manual shift. *rev* *shift* *OW!* *shift* *zoom!*. We climbed hills in SF and it was all scary... *roll* *shift* *rev* *thunk!* *rev* *zoom!* She's getting better, really...
This weekend we moved things! I carried shelves and plants and many many records! She tells me I will have a garage as soon as she takes care of the plymouth... poor plymouth. *lowers headlights in respect*Current Mileage: 496 Current Mood: bouncy
